WESLEY CHAPEL - Across the street from his family's home, 4-year-old Cayden Hueles clung to his older brother's hand in the neighborhood park while other young boys practiced their pitching skills.

Ryan Leonard was up. It was his turn to throw the baseball into the pitchback net Thursday night. About the same time as Ryan released the ball, Cayden released the hand of his 12-year-old brother, Janson Schults, and walked in front of the net, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report.

The ball struck him on the upper left side of the chest. Cayden took a couple of steps forward, gasped for air and fell to ground.

About that time, the boys' eldest brother, Jordan, arrived at the park in the Seven Oaks subdivision at his mother's request to bring the boys home. He saw his little brother on the ground, and he ran back home screaming, "Call 911. Cayden was hit in the chest," according to the report

A man in the park scooped up the motionless boy, carried him to the family's home and laid him on the ground while the boys' mother, Sheri Hamilton, spoke to 911 operators.

When Pasco paramedics arrived, Cayden was unconscious and wasn't breathing. He was taken to University Community Hospital in Tampa, where he was pronounced dead.
