An argument outside a Tampa nightclub at 901 N. Franklin St. left one man shot in the back and police searching for the shooter.
The shooting victim, whom the Tribune is not identifying because the shooter is not in custody, had been in an argument at Club 112 early this morning, according to police. After the club closed, the man walked to his car.
Police say this is what happened next:
As the man opened his car door, someone came up to him from behind and fired one shot, hitting him in the back. The shooter fled in an early 1990s gray Nissan Sentra sedan with tinted windows.
He is described as a black man, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds and with short dreadlocks. He was wearing a long-sleeve white shirt, jeans and brown Timberland shoes.
The wounded man was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Anyone with information should call the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.
