ZEPHYRHILLS - In June, the city's largest senior center moved to new digs.
Now, Community Aging and Retirement Services wants to you to come check it out.
The center is hosting an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at its quarters in Community Chapel Church of God, 5320 First St. Rock and Soul Caterers will be providing the food.
The event offers a chance to meet instructors, see displays of their work, sign up for classes or volunteer to teach one.
Classes include sign language for beginners, knitting, crochet and macramé, and a writers group called Wordcrafters. Regular winter courses include pine needle basketmaking, one-stroke painting, computers, needle tatting, Spanish, rubber stamping and card making.
Volunteer instructors are needed for beaded jewelry, line dancing, ballroom dancing, woodcarving and woodburning.
The center also needs a part-time receptionist and kitchen volunteers for Friday night bingo, which still is held at the old CARES location, 4645 Airport Road.
