Pasco Deputies Charge 4 Women With Prostitution

PORT RICHEY On craigslist.org users can find a job as a garage door installer, set up the sale of a 1993 Dodge Spirit for $250 or even arrange a trade for a Fender guitar in exchange for an iPod touch.

But Pasco County Sheriff's Office's vice narcotics detectives say some women are using the online classified advertising Web site for illegal activity: prostitution.

Pasco detectives Thursday arrested four women on charges of prostitution. Three of the women are accused of selling themselves on Craigslist under "Erotic Services," the other on the website for Rocco's Escorts.

Arrested were Jolyn Dawn Steier, 38, of 2110 Marshview Drive, Wesley Chapel; Angel Ann Stebelton, 35, of 30707 Way Drive, Wesley Chapel; Shawna Marie Lee, 20, of 2060 15th St. SW, Vero Beach; and Kimberly Anne Jimino, 25, of 4205 Summerdale Drive, Tampa. Steier is accused of using the Rocco's website to advertise her services while the others allegedly used Craigslist.

Deputies had received complaints from the public as well as family members and friends of the women that they were soliciting sex on the Internet, said sheriff's office spokesman Doug Tobin.

Sometimes, Tobin said, family and friends want to help the women, Tobin said.

"Hollywood tends to glamorize prostitution and in fact it's very unglamorous," the spokesman said. "A lot of these women are on drugs."

Vice detectives targeted women who posted their services on the Web sites, stating they would work in Pasco. Using confidential informants, meetings with the women were arranged Thursday in different rooms at the Comfort Inn at 11810 U.S. 19.

According to sheriff's office reports, Stebelton massaged the confidential informant and engaged in sexual activity for $350. Detectives also found Alprazolam, also known as Xanax, in Stebelton's possession and she doesn't have prescription for the drug, a report states.

She was being held at the Land O' Lakes Jail today on charges of possession of a controlled substance, prostitution and unlicensed practice of a health care professional. Bail was set at $10,150.

Jimino is accused of massaging and having sex with a confidential informant. She was held at the jail on charges of unlicensed practice of a health care professional and prostitution. She was released after posting $10,000 bail.

Lee is being held at the jail today on charges of unlicensed practice of a health care professional and prostitution, accused of giving a confidential informant a massage and having sex. Bail was set at $2,650.

Steier, who used the name Isabella, had sex with the confidential informant, massaged his back and offered to crack his neck, a report states. Detectives also reportedly found her in possession of marijuana. She was arrested on charges of prostitution, and possession of marijuana, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. She was released from jail after posting $10,300 bail.

None of the woman have massage therapist licenses in Florida, the reports state.

Though Craigslist prohibits the "offer or solicitation of illegal prostitution," the women's advertisements were clear, Tobin said.

"There was no question of what they were advertising was prostitution," he said.

A check of the Tampa Bay Craigslist today turned up similar new advertisements for other women.

"Start your weekend with a bang from this blonde hottie," said the attention grabber for one Pasco woman.

The advertisements do not list a fee.
