Curtis Clayton punched a 16-year-old several times in the face, choked her and threatened to stab her with a silver pocketknife, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Clayton, 33, of Tampa, then shoved his 65-year-old mother when she tried to grab the knife out of his hand, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
Deputies arrested Clayton at 11:30 a.m. today.
He was charged with aggravated child abuse, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery by choking, battery of someone older than 65 and criminal mischief.
He was taken to Orient Road Jail. Bail had not been set.
