Four people tried to sell 5,000 Ecstasy pills Friday for $25,000, Tampa police say.
They agreed to sell the drugs to a confidential informant for police and were arrested at 409 Bayshore Blvd, according to a criminal arrest affidavit.
At 4:40 p.m., police arrested Zachary Collins, 41, of Clearwater; Jamila Reid, 33, of Tampa; Vincent Datri, 28, of Valrico; and Frank Marrero, 24, of Tampa.
On Thursday, the informant negotiated with Marrero, who contacted Datri, who contacted Collins about the sale, police say.
A search revealed Collins was in possession of the pills, as well as 800 more, according to police.
Collins, Marrero, Reid and Datri was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance.
They remained in Orient Road Jail on Friday night. No bail had been set.
