A 22-year-old man who is serving prison time for drug trafficking is now accused of causing a man's death last year by selling him Xanax tablets and giving him an Opana pill.

Cory Hennis was transported from the New River East Correctional Institution in Bradford County and booked into the Pinellas County Jail today. He faces one count of manslaughter.

Hennis has told authorities he sold Wesley Wagner four Xanax tablets for $20 in December 2007, according to court documents unsealed today. He also told them he gave Wagner a dose of Opana, the documents state.

Wagner died at home in Largo, and an autopsy showed the two drugs caused his death, the court documents state. Wagner was drinking beer when he took the drugs, the documents state.

Xanax is an antidepressant, and Opana is a painkiller.

In September, Hennis was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking in methadone.
