Polk County deputies are searching for an armed man who pistol-whipped a woman who answered a knock at her door.

About 6:50 p.m. Saturday, the suspect knocked on the door of 551 Castlemain Circle in Davenport, according to deputies. When the woman answered, the man struck her in the face and forced her into the home, where he demanded money.
After taking money from her wallet, he ran.
The woman, who was not identified, said the suspect was a 5-foot-10 black male who weighed about 160 pounds. He was 20 to 25 and had an unshaven face with glasses, a blue shirt, and gray or khaki shorts.
