BRANDON - Hillsborough County deputies are searching for two robbers who took an undisclosed amount of cash from a Quick Pick Food Mart in Brandon on Thursday night. One of the men fired twice at a shelf of cigarettes, but no one was hurt.

About 8:49 p.m., a man entered the business at 513 Limona Road with a silver gun and demanded money, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.

A second man held the door open for the gunman, Carter said.

According to Carter, the gunman was a black man, possibly in his 20s. He stood about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighed 150 to 170 pounds. He was clean-shaven and wore a black, hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and blue jeans.

The second man was Hispanic, possibly in his 20s. He stood about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighed 150 to 170 pounds. Also clean-shaven, he had black hair and brown eyes and wore a brown jacket with light-colored shirt and long pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
