TAMPA - Waiting to place an order at a local meat market, a Tampa woman found herself bleeding after another customer bit off her fingertip, police said.

Jacqueline Wimbush, 39, was treated at St. Joseph's Hospital after the fight Monday, Tampa police said. Her ring finger was injured in the fracas, police said.

Officers charged the other woman, Pamela Bumpers, 33, of 3400 E. Paris St., with felony battery. Bumpers was free on Wednesday after posting $2,000 bail, jail records show.

Police say the women were waiting to be served at Aliana Meat Market at 4016 N. 22nd St. shortly after noon Monday when they began arguing about who was next. Customers take a number to order upon entering the market; another customer who left before ordering gave Bumpers her number, and Wimbush objected, police said.

Bumpers bumped into Wimbush, and the argument turned physical, with Bumpers biting off the tip of Wimbush's finger, police said.

Attempts to reach the women on Wednesday afternoon were unsuccessful.
