Debris from a collapsing roof pushed a woman against a wall today outside of a Circle K convenience store in Valrico, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
About 12:10 p.m., Bridget Williams, 25, of Plant City, was using the pay phone outside the store at State Road 60 and Valrico Road, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said. She was standing on the sidewalk when the roof collapsed and the debris shoved her against the wall.
Williams was transported to Brandon Regional Hospital after complaining of pain, but she was not seriously hurt, Carter said.
Hillsborough County Code Enforcement has taped off the building and declared it unsafe for occupancy until repairs are made, manager Ed Brill said.
Officials do not know what caused the roof to collapse, Brill said.
