Manatee Deputies Arrest 4 In Theft Of Air Conditioners

Manatee County deputies say they have a lot of evidence linking four people to the theft of four air conditioners.

A homeowner on Sunset Drive notified the Manatee County Sheriff's Office about 10:15 p.m. Sunday that a silver pickup was driving away with air conditioners from a shed at Venture Rentals. The homeowner's husband took several photos of the truck and the license plate, which he then gave to deputies, Lt. William Vitaioli said.

Deputies stopped the truck in the 3200 block of 20th Street West in the Gregory Estates neighborhood at 10:25 p.m. The air conditioners were in the bed of the truck, the truck matched the one in photos taken at Venture Rentals, and there is video of them taking the air conditioners from the shed, deputies said.

Matthew Evans, 33, Kevin Ingles, 42, and Fred Gentle, 40, all are charged with burglary. Darcy Ingles, 29, is charged with driving without a valid driver's license and being an accessory to burglary.
