An 11-year veteran of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will be honored as Hispanic Deputy of the Year tonight at an annual banquet by the Sheriff's Hispanic Advisory Council.
Deputy Marilyn Padron, 36, is one of six sheriff's office employees who will be honored this evening at the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore hotel, 2225 N. Lois Ave. Public defender Julianne Holt also will receive an award, according to a news release.
For 23 years, the advisory council has held the banquet to applaud sheriff's personnel who have performed "in an outstanding manner," as well as scholarship recipients and other individuals.
This year, the council named Deputy Reginald Martinez as Detention Deputy of the Year and bailiff Raymond Sanchez as Bailiff of the Year.
