Man Drowns After Falling Into Lake Reflections

LUTZ - A man drowned this evening while fishing at Lake Reflections, said Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Carter.

Deputies and a dive team responded to a call at about 6:30 p.m. at 18029 Lake Reflections Blvd. The victim, 22, was fishing with four friends in the retention pond before returning to shore, Carter said. When the boat drifted back out into the pond, the victim swam out to retrieve it, went under and did not surface, according to his friends.

While the drowning appears to be accidental, the victim's name is being withheld until next of kin has been notified.
