The University of North Carolina has released Angelo Hadley from his National Letter of Intent after the Armwood High football star was arrested for the second time in a month.
On Wednesday, Hadley and his brothers, Aubrey Elijah, 20, and Adrian Hadley, 24, all of 12307 Langshaw Drive, Thonotosassa, were charged with grand theft, grand theft of a firearm and armed burglary of a dwelling.
The brothers were taken to the Orient Road Jail on Wednesday, where they are being held without bail.
According to deputies, Hadley, 18, was having sex with a 14-year-old girl as his two brothers burglarized her east Hillsborough home one night between Feb. 15 and 19.
Hadley unlocked a sliding glass door for his brothers the night of the burglary, deputies said. Once inside, the trio stole jewelry, cash and a shotgun worth more than $17,000, deputies said.
Angelo Hadley had been charged April 5 with lewd and lascivious conduct. He was released on $15,000 bail after that arrest.
Hadley had signed a scholarship in February to play at North Carolina. The Fayetteville (N.C.) Observer reported that the school has released him from the commitment.
Hadley was a three-year starter at Armwood and finished as the school's all-time leader in interceptions. He was a Tribune All-Hillsborough County first-team selection each of the last two seasons. In 2008, he set the school's single-season record with 10 interceptions.
