The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate a collision Thursday that killed a 44-year-old man from Daytona Beach.
No charges have been filed, and investigators have not released the victim's name because they have not yet contacted his family.
Troopers said the man was hit at about 9:35 p.m. near the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Waverly Street. A 2003 Isuzu Rodeo, driven by Mark Creasy of Tampa, traveling east on Roosevelt, struck the man, who was crossing the highway.
Largo Fire Rescue paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, troopers said. Creasy was not injured.
