A man was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital after a two-story house fire Tuesday night, Hillsborough County Emergency Dispatch said.
The condition of the victim wasn't known, said Gordon Silver, communications supervisor for emergency dispatch.
The house fire was at the 19500 block of Deer Lake Road, which is near the Pasco County line, Silver said.
The fire department received the call at 8:18 p.m. The first unit arrived at the scene at 8:27 p.m. The fire was under control at around 9 p.m., said Chief Ernie Wargo of Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
"The fire itself was not extensive," Wargo said. "Mainly confined to the garage area."
A total of 11 engines and two tankers worked the fire. The house was on a road with no fire hydrants, Silver said.
The state and the local fire marshal's offices are investigating the fire's cause, Silver said.
