A 31-year-old Tampa man sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl in a parking lot near his home, Hillsborough County deputies say.
Deputies arrested Michael Cornelius Williams on Wednesday evening.
He was charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
Deputies say that on Nov. 26, he and a teenager he knew through his girlfriend were in a vehicle together, and he pulled into a parking lot near his home on River Run Drive. He forced her into the back seat and sexually assaulted her, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
The teenager told a family member, who reported to investigators that an assault occurred.
Williams remained in jail this morning. His bail has been set at $7,500.
