Tarpon Springs police say they arrested a man during the surveillance of a two mobile home parks and charged him in a series of burglaries this morning.
Travis Lavar Fields, 19, of 1010 Windsor Hill Way, Tarpon Springs, was charged with five counts of burglary to an occupied dwelling; two counts of attempted burglary to an occupied dwelling; one count of burglary to an unoccupied dwelling; three counts of grand theft auto; one count of commercial burglary; and one count of grand theft, police Lt. Barbara Templeton said.
This morning, detectives and patrol officers were keeping under surveillance two mobile home communities, Tarpon Shores and Stonehedge on the Hill, because of recent burglaries, Templeton said.
At 1 a.m., they spotted a stolen vehicle they believed the suspect had been using, and at 7 a.m. they saw Fields walk toward it, Templeton said. Fields ran but was arrested, she said.
Templeton said he admitted to the burglaries.
