The Florida Highway Patrol has identified a motorcyclist killed Wednesday night in a crash on Dale Mabry Highway.
Juan Andino-Casillas, 35, of Tampa, was thrown from his bike when he collided with a Toyota Corolla on northbound Dale Mabry Highway at Broad Avenue at 8:05 p.m., the patrol said. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet, according to a news release.
Charges are pending against the Corolla's driver, Christopher Olivares, 21, of Tampa. Olivares had been driving southbound on Dale Mabry when he turned left at Broad and drove directly into the path of the motorcycle, the news release said.
The motorcycle struck the right side of the Corolla, ejecting Andino-Casillas. He died at the scene.
Olivares received minor injuries. His three passengers were taken to local hospitals. Alceo Hugooton Perez III, 19, went to St. Joseph's Hospital with serious injuries; Timothy Soto, 25, went to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries; and Jenise-Lynn Martinez, 18, went to St. Joseph's Hospital with critical injuries, according to the report. All of the passengers are from Tampa.
