If you're going to be sipping on those cocktails Friday night, make sure you have a designated driver.
New Port Richey police officers and Pasco sheriff's deputies will be conducting a checkpoint to find drivers under the influence of alcohol.
The checkpoint will be set up in the vicinity of Congress Street and Pine Hill Road from 8 to 10 p.m. Drivers will be randomly pulled over.
The goal, according to police, is to get impaired drivers off the road before they cause crashes. Authorities warn people who plan on drinking alcohol to arrange for a designated driver or plan on using public transportation or a taxi.
