The first time Evon Cavett dialed 911 early this morning, she complained that her roommate was trying to take away her beer, police said.
After the third call, Cavett, 43, was on her way to jail.
About 2:35 a.m., two Tampa police officers responded to the first call from an apartment at 712 E. Floribraska Ave. from a woman identifying herself as Evon, a preliminary report states.
They found Cavett drinking from a 40-ounce bottle of Bud Light and an unidentified man sitting with her, police said.
Cavett told police she had drunk six 16-ounce cans of beer but wasn't finished drinking.
She also told the officers she did not call 911, even though her home phone number matched the caller ID from the 911 center, police said. She then said she had called about "some kids selling drugs" outside, police said.
The man with her pointed at her, mimed a drinking motion and then mimed holding a phone receiver.
The officers told the woman that the 911 system is for emergencies only and that they were leaving.
Roughly 10 minutes later, at 2:46 a.m., the officers were dispatched to a second call from the apartment. Cavett had called the 911 operator to complain that the police were dispatched when she never called them in the first place, a report states.
The officers again advised the woman that 911 is for emergencies only and told her that if she called again, she would be arrested.
At 3:02 a.m., police said, Cavett called a third time, saying, "Come ... arrest me!"
The officers obliged.
Cavett was held on $1,250 bail at the Orient Road Jail today, records show.
She is charged with three misdemeanors: misuse of the 911 system, obstructing an officer without violence and disorderly conduct.
