A standoff in Largo involving robbery suspects barricaded in a house appears to be over after a Pinellas County sheriff's SWAT team entered the home and found it empty, authorities say.
SWAT members entered the home about 8:30 p.m., nearly 12 hours after three men robbed a Largo business at 1646 Tilley Ave., the sheriff's office said.
Witnesses told deputies they saw the subjects run around the back of the business, jump into the back of a pickup driven by a third man and flee the scene, heading southbound on Clearwater/Largo Road.
Deputies spotted the truck near Gooden Crossing and were then seen entering a home in the area. One of the suspects, Alfred Morris Jr., surrendered about 1 p.m., when deputies ordered the men out of the house.
Morris was the driver of the pickup truck, deputies say. He has been charged with a felony count of driving with a suspended or revoked license.
SWAT remained at the scene near 119th Street, in the Baskin and Ridgecrest neighborhood, for several hours trying repeatedly to establish communication with the men believed to be inside the house, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies continue to look for the other two men. Authorities say one is Brandon Bennett, 18. The other has not yet been identified.
The trio is suspected in three robberies - two in the city of Largo, and another in unincorporated Largo, which is in the Pinellas sheriff's jurisdiction, said Pinellas sheriff's spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda.
