A pawn shop's 31-year-old assistant manager cost her store more than $35,000 by making fraudulent transactions, Hillsborough County deputies say.

Deputies arrested Wadna Velazquez-DeJesus of Tampa on Friday morning.

She was charged with grand theft and organized fraud.

Between Feb. 12 and Thursday, she received 48 fraudulent pawn transactions involving jewelry for Cash America pawn shop at 8019 W. Hillsborough Ave., deputies say. She paid cash to five associates, creating a loss of $35,029.92 to the store.

Velazquez-DeJesus' bail was set at $15,000. She has since been released from jail.
