A 28-year-old man was robbed and pistol-whipped by three supposed friends Tuesday at Helen Howarth Park, police said.
Jason M. Smith, of 7666 63rd St., went to the park about 2 p.m. to meet the trio, said Capt. Sanfield Forseth. But the men took Smith's cash and beat him in the back of the head with a handgun.
Smith was treated at Bayfront Medical Center and released.
Police say they know who the three suspects are but are not releasing their identities while they remain at large.
