A man charged with killing his former girlfriend in her Riverview home must remain in jail.
A judge refused to grant bail to James Bernard Bull during his initial court appearance today, saying the evidence against him appeared strong.
Hillsborough County Circuit Judge Walter Heinrich told Bull, of 3009 E. Sligh Ave., that the victim's blood was found in his right shoe and on his jeans.
Bull, 43, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Alisa Jackson, 40, a Department of Children & Families worker.
Jackson was killed April 16. The next day, her body was found face down and naked on her bed after relatives hadn't heard from her.
Police said Bull stole Jackson's 2007 Toyota Highlander after the attack and abandoned it at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
