Owner arrested after dog attacks woman, officials say

TAMPA --

A 33-year-old Tampa man's pit bull got out and attacked a woman today, a Hillsborough County Animal Services spokeswoman said.

Investigators arrested Charles Anderson shortly before 4 p.m. today at his home, 5906 E. Columbus Drive. He was charged with a felony, having a dangerous dog causing a severe injury, jail records show.

The woman was taken for medical attention after being attacked by Buzz, a neutered male pit bull, animal services spokeswoman Marti Ryan said. No further details on the woman or her condition were immediately available.

Anderson remains in jail with bail set at $2,000. The dog has been confiscated.
