2 treated after fire at Pinellas nursing home

A resident and a staff member were treated for non-life threatening injuries after a nursing home fire this afternoon, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.

The fire began in room 120 of Countryside Healthcare, 3825 Countryside Blvd. Some residents were moved from the wing, but there was no evacuation, the sheriff's office said.

Resident Paul Arnett, 62, and staff member Brian Beasley, 26, of St. Petersburg, were transported to Mease Countryside Hospital.

The sheriff's office, Palm Harbor Fire Department and East Lake Fire Department responded to the 2:35 p.m. fire, which remains under investigation.
