Two people stole a bicycle from the front yard of 2403 E. Curtis St., where the owner of the bicycle saw the theft and chased both suspects, according to the Tampa police.
While fleeing with the owner's bicycle, one individual was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of North 24th Street and East Osborne Avenue. The rider sustained a serious head injury and was transported to Tampa General Hospital, police said.
The other individual was arrested and charged with theft and was taken to jail. The names of the suspects were not immediately available.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and was not at fault in the crash.
