A 64-year-old pedestrian was killed Friday night when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing 62nd Avenue North in St. Petersburg, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Geoffrey C. Owen, of St. Petersburg, was trying to cross 62nd Avenue at 33rd Street North when he entered the path of a westbound 2001 Toyota Echo, the patrol said. Owen was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Toyota's driver, Kathleen Edyth Prince, 59, of St. Petersburg, wasn't injured, the patrol said.
The investigation continues.
