Traffic is moving slowly on Interstate 4 westbound in Tampa after a pickup plunged off the highway after a collision late this morning.
The white pickup landed upright in a drainage ditch near 40th Street, Tampa Fire Rescue Captain Bill Wade said.
Fire Rescue paramedics treated the male driver at the scene and transported him to Tampa General Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.
Fire Rescue said it appears the pickup was involved in a collision with another vehicle on I-4 westbound near the 50th Street on ramp. The impact caused the pickup to hit the retaining wall and then go over it. The pickup landed upright.
Though traffic is slow, I-4 is open in both directions.
Tampa Police and Florida Highway Patrol are investigating.
