Traffic jammed after truck plunges off I-4

TAMPA --

Traffic is moving slowly on Interstate 4 westbound in Tampa after a pickup plunged off the highway late this morning.

The white pickup landed in a drainage ditch near 40th Street, Tampa Fire Rescue Captain Bill Wade said.

There's no word on why the truck fell off the road. The driver was injured but is expected to live, Wade said.

Though traffic is slow, I-4 is open in both directions.
