Pasco sheriff's detectives say a 17-year-old Sunlake High student used Craigslist to lure two people to him so he could rob them over the summer.
Robert Earl Blue Jr. was arrested Thursday at school and now faces two felony counts of armed robbery.
In June, Blue, according to reports, advertised a Blackberry for sale on the Craigslist Web site and on two separate occasions arranged to sell the cell phone for $50.
On June 15, a 20-year-old Lutz man called 911 after he met a man named "Robert" in Suncoast Meadows who by telephone directed him to a home on Holmby Drive. When the man got out of his truck to purchase the Blackberry, he immediately saw "Robert" lift his shirt, exposing a handgun.
"Give me the money; I ain't playing," he was told, according to a report.
The man handed over the $50.
"Get in your truck and leave," Blue told him, the report states.
The man left and called authorities.
The next day, according to deputies, Blue arranged to sell the phone to a 25-year-old Tampa man and met him in the same area of Wesley Chapel.
When Blue pulled out a black and silver handgun and pointed it at his potential customer, according to a report, he ordered the man to the ground.
"You want to rob me for $50?" the man quipped.
The man told Blue if he wanted the money he was going to have to shoot him for it, according to a report, then he hopped in his car and sped away. He was not injured.
The man told his girlfriend about what happened and his girlfriend called Blue's number and asked if the Blackberry was still available, a report states. She was told it was for $70 and he could meet her at the same location. She did not go and they notified deputies, a report states.
Deputies were eventually able to track down Blue, of 30701 Wrencrest Drive, through the email address on Craigslist.
