Two men were injured this morning in an accident where one car rolled over and the second vehicle landed on top of it, the Tarpon Springs Police Department said.
Both vehicles were heading south on U.S. 19 at around 8:38 a.m. As they passed Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, the 1995 green Saturn driven by Bradley Hariford, 18, of Palm Harbor, struck the GMC truck driven by Jesse Fugate, 31, of Largo.
Both drivers lost control of their vehicles and crashed into a light pole just north of Sunrise Drive, police said.
Fugate's truck rolled over and Hariford's Saturn landed on top of the GMC, police said.
Fugate was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa where he was treated and released, the hospital's nursing supervisor said. His passenger, who wasn't named, was taken to Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs. The passenger's condition wasn't available.
Hariford was taken by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. His condition wasn't available.
Police said before Hariford struck the GMC he became aggressive. The case is under investigation and charges are pending, police said.
Hariford's Saturn was reported stolen from Palm Harbor. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating the stolen vehicle.
