The mother of a 3-year-old girl reported missing Sunday told investigators she took 25 Xanax pills and couldn't remember where her daughter was or whether she took her anywhere, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
The child, Iveliz Marie Flores, was found hours later after deputies began canvassing the area.
Lisa Flores, 32, was arrested Sunday on a child neglect charge.
A family friend said she saw media coverage of the case and brought Iveliz back to the Flores' home, 1804 143rd Ave. Iveliz was unharmed and appeared to be in good health, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies said Flores left her daughter inside her apartment Saturday and went to buy pills, not returning until sometime Sunday.
A witness said Flores left the apartment at 9 p.m. Saturday after smoking marijuana, an arrest report states.
Flores told investigators her daughter was sleeping when she took the 25 Xanax pills, the sheriff's office said. She reported Iveliz missing about 6 p.m. Sunday.
Flores also was charged with violating probation. Her bail has not been set.
