Body recovered near Sunshine Skyway Bridge

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office recovered a body this afternoon in Tampa Bay adjacent to the center span of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Manatee County sheriff's deputies delivered the body of a man to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the agency that has jurisdiction where the body was recovered.

Debbie Carter, a Hillsborough sheriff's spokeswoman, said that a man possibly jumped off the Skyway on Monday, but his body was not recovered. Officials won't know if this was the same man until after an autopsy is completed.
