Prepare for a treat for your taste buds.Some of the region's best cooks will fire up their grills Saturday for the eighth annual Plant City Pig Jam.
Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce President Marion Smith said everything is falling into place for another great Pig Jam.
"We're just putting on the finishing touches," she said.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
at the Randy L. Larson Softball Four-Plex at 1500 S. Park Road, near Plant City Stadium.
There is no admission charge; parking is $5.
More than 60 teams of cooks will compete for more than $15,000 in prizes at the Pig Jam, which is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society.
Spectators at the Pig Jam can buy samples of barbecue chicken, ribs, beef brisket and pork.
Beer and soda will be sold, and there will be family fun that includes entertainment and children's activities.
And for those college football fans, big screen TVs will air the major games.
