Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a crash involving a moped and a dump truck that occurred Thursday afternoon at Little Road and Embassy Boulevard.
According to the highway patrol:
The dump truck's driver, David C. Ingalls, 41, of Hudson, was making a left turn when moped driver Dawn M. Valentine, 48, of Hudson, ran into the side of the truck.
Valentine suffered serious injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where she was in stable condition Thursday afternoon. The 1:30 p.m. crash resulted in a minor fuel spill.
Valentine's passenger, Jeremy Valentine, 23, also of Hudson, suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment. The Valentines' relationship was unclear.
The investigation is continuing.
