An Ohio man visiting the area was arrested Thursday for simulating a sex act at a beach to four teenage girls, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said.
Jesse Woolum, 53, has been arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition and is being held in Pinellas County Jail.
The sheriff's office said Woolum went to Indian Rocks Beach at around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. Three 16-year-old girls and one 15-year-old girl were sunbathing when Woolum allegedly approached them.
He sat near them and began to simulate a sex act, the sheriff's office said. The girls went to the water to get away from Woolum. A bystander saw what was happening and confronted Woodlum. The bystander called the sheriff's office.
Detectives investigated the case and arrested Woolum at 6:48 p.m. Thursday as he was headed to a hotel in Clearwater Beach where he was staying while on vacation.
