Pasco County Sheriff's Office deputies on Tuesday arrested a 13-year-old student at James Irvin Education Center after he threatened to shoot a teacher, according to an arrest report.
The boy was charged with corruption by threat against a public servant. He was taken to the Pasco Juvenile Assessment Center in Land O' Lakes. Bail information is not available for juvenile defendants.
The incident began Tuesday morning when Michael Cole, a teacher, told the teen to put his cell phone away or he would take it. The boy replied, "You're not taking my cell phone, and you're going to have to fight me for it," according to a report.
The boy then said, "I have something to put through you." Cole asked him what he meant, and the student said he would get a gun and shoot Cole. Although Cole gave him several opportunities, the boy refused to retract his statements.
