TAMPA --
About 30 police officers, firefighters and EMS workers pedaled into downtown Tampa this afternoon at the conclusion of a two-day bicycle ride to honor two Tampa policemen shot to death a year ago.
The 160-mile ride – mostly on U.S. 41 -- began Friday in North Naples and ended in front of Tampa Police Headquarters. "The Brotherhood Ride" honored slain officers David Curtis and Jeffrey Kocab, who were killed during what they thought was a routine traffic stop on June 29 last year.
The riders, who also honored a slain Fort Myers police dog named Rosco, made a stop in that Southwest Florida city on the their trek to Tampa. And they pedaled through heavy rain in the Bradenton area.
