The Occupy Wall Street movement gained another local protégé Saturday as Occupy St. Pete took shape in Straub Park on downtown St. Petersburg's waterfront.
The rally became Pinellas County's counterpart to Occupy Tampa, which alternately has been at Lykes Gaslight Square Park and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Tampa for about two weeks.
Dozens of people joined the rallies on both sides of Tampa Bay on Saturday.
The Occupy Wall Street movement protests corporate greed and demands higher taxes on wealthy people.
