A Brandon man was arrested for growing an estimated 50 pounds of marijuana at his home with a street value of $200,000, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Osmany Garcia-Martinez, 26, was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with manufacture of cannabis, trafficking in marijuana, possession for purpose of trafficking and grand theft, the sheriff's office said.
He is being held in a Hillsborough County jail with no bail set, according to jail records.
Deputies received a Crime Stoppers tip that Garcia-Martinez was using his Cattleman Drive home as a grow house.
Deputies served a search warrant at the home on Tuesday and confirmed the home was being used to cultivate marijuana.
Investigators found an estimated 50 pounds of marijuana in the home with a street value of $200,000, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies also found tools and items used to cultivate the marijuana, the sheriff's office said.
Tampa Electric Co. also responded to the scene and learned that Garcia-Martinez was illegally obtaining electricity at his home.
