Railroad tracks will be replaced on Polk Street in downtown Tampa starting Monday, and some adjacent roads will close for weeks.
Construction will begin at Polk and Jefferson streets, then move west toward Ashley Drive during the month.
The street closures and the maintenance of the tracks will last about two weeks at each intersection along the route. After the tracks are replaced at Polk and Jefferson streets, the next closure will be at Polk between Pierce and Jefferson streets.
City officials are asking motorists to use Morgan Street to avoid backups.
