A 22-year-old Sebring woman was arrested Thursday on a warrant on a charge of attempted first-degree murder with a weapon from 2010.

A court order signed Feb. 3 authorized the arrest of Ashley Jayne Townsend, of 1104 Evanston St., Sebring, on the first-degree felony of attempted murder in the first degree with a weapon.

According to a State's Attorney affidavit, Townsend on or about June 17, 2010 in Highlands County, attempted to commit a premeditated murder in the first degree and attempted to kill the victim by a beating with a weapon (an arm cast).

Townsend was being held Friday without bond in the Highlands County Jail.
