A 58-year-old man has been charged with killing his parents and sister in their Sarasota home late Friday, deputies said.
Thomas Moak, Jr., shot and killed his mother Isabelle Moak, 82, father Thomas Moak, Sr., 80, and sister Renee O'Connor, 62, in their home at 4142 Tonga Drive, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
A relative called the sheriff's office about 11:20 p.m. to report that Thomas Moak, Jr., called and said he killed his parents and sister and was about to kill himself, the sheriff's office said.
Deputies talked Moak into coming out of the home and he was arrested without incident, the sheriff's office said. Deputies found the three victims while searching the home.
Moak reportedly told investigators there were escalating issues between him and his sister and that he "snapped."
A neighbor told the newspaper Moak seemed stressed about taking care of his parents and not having a job.
Moak is being held in the Sarasota County Jail without bond.
