Someone set a fire today in a boys' bathroom at Freedom High School in Tampa Palms, Tampa Fire Rescue investigators say.
The fire did at least $25,000 in damage to the boys' bathroom and sent smoke into the neighboring girls' restroom and some nearby classrooms.
Firefighters responded to a 911 call from the school about 11 a.m. Within 15 minutes, they had the fire under control.
All 2,100 students evacuated safely, and no one was hurt.
The building in which the fire happened, the 400 Building, remained closed after the fire was put out, but school went on as usual on the rest of campus.
Fire investigators have not released specifics on how they think the fire was set. Tampa police and school officials also are trying to find the person or people responsible.
