TAMPA - Busch Gardens welcomed its newest addition on Dec. 27, a male Grevy's zebra. The foal was able to run with the rest of the herd within an hour of its birth.

Grevy's zebras live on the park's Serengeti Plain and can be viewed from the Edge of Africa and the Serengeti Express Train.

The Grevy's zebra is markedly distinguished by its large ears and more numerous and narrower black stripes.

A female Grevy's zebra named Shadow was born at the theme park on March 27.

Busch Gardens' 65-acre Serengeti Plain is a naturalistic habitat featuring a diverse population of African animals including giraffes, zebra, eland antelope and several other species of hoof stock and birds, according to its Web site.
