Most robbers wait until after a bank is open to conduct a hold up.
Not so at a Wachovia branch in Temple Terrace, police said.
A man cut a hole in the roof of the branch at 9775 N. 56th St. on Monday night, then surprised bank workers this morning, police said.
The man, described as 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build and dark complexion of an undetermined race, flashed a silver handgun, demanded money and confronted a bank employee, demanding car keys, police said. The man took off in the employee's blue 2007 Volkswagen Jetta, police said.
No shots were fired and nobody was hurt.
The man was wearing stonewashed jeans, a hooded red sweatshirt, a mask and black gloves, police said.
Police believe this is the same man who robbed a SunTrust Bank in Temple Terrace on Jan. 9.
Anyone with information should contact the Temple Terrace Police Department at (813) 989-7110.
