About 200 Egypt Lake Elementary students and parents learned that mathematics is everywhere during Math Night on Oct. 1.
For the third year, teachers and staff hosted an evening for students and their parents to participate in math activities using bubble gum, m&m's, decks of playing cards and the game Twister.
"We have a good time," said Joyce McFarland, math resource teacher and coordinator of the event. "There is something for everyone."
Teachers created activities based on grade levels, Head Start through fifth grade, and inside the cafeteria, stations were designed to provide a math lesson as a fun activity.
"You want it to be fun," McFarland said. "It's a good example of what you can learn by participating."
